ISF is associating with VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur, as NGO Partner for the event Saamanjasya 2010. This novel initiative will bring the Corporates and NGOs under one roof with the aim of making sustainable, replicable and stronger Corporate-NGO partnerships.
Saamanjasya will provide students from varied backgrounds an opportunity to look at live study cases/ issues and come up with innovative solutions for the same. Also, students will be asked to use social media to propagate the relevant causes of all the NGO Partners.
ISF’s live case study is based on ‘How to make the community take ownership, come forward and undertake the running of the Crèches and Preschool Learning Centers without any external funding’.

ISF's mandate is to work on the rights and empowerment of women and children through education. We believe that education is not just a basic right but the most powerful catalyst for economic growth and social transformation. We are also convinced that education for the poorer sections is where we must start, as poverty reinforces gender inequity. ISF is striving and working for an equitable society pioneered through education.
Millions of children are not only being denied something many of us take for granted; they are being denied a fundamental human right spelt out in international instruments their Governments have signed on to: the right to education. The most tragic and unjust dimension of this state of affairs is this: of the more than 110 million children who should be in school and who are not, two thirds are girls. For them, the denial of human rights has struck twice over.
“We are guilty of many crimes, but our worst sin is abandoning the child; neglecting the foundation of life. Many of the things we need, can wait, the child cannot. We cannot answer Tomorrow. Her name is Today”. Gabriela Mistral. More..
